I'm looking for a really good, free online puzzle game. I'm not talking crosswords, sudoku or anything like that, I mean games that have a story, need puzzles to be solved to progress and they aren't simple point n clicks. I want to really have to use my brain, have to search out information online to solve things I wouldn't be able to alone and something that will rack my brains.
I'm not looking for an ARG as I play those already, I'm looking for something a little less group oriented. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know, but no stupid answers or links please.
Portal is ok, but I'm looking for soething a little more involved, that's too linear. Also not looking for platformers, i want to use my head, not my arrow keys.

i want to know sites for free, online, puzzle games that don't need a download. NOT jigsaw games, escape games, chose-your-own-adventure games, or games that are too complicated for an 11 year old girl to do. i already played fantastic contraption and both super stacker games and i'm tired of using google! please help! any site at all would be ok! thanks if you can help! :)
