can anyone provide a brief psychoanalytical profile of j.r.r. tolkein's attitude towards children?

as a starting point, i'd like to ask: what kind of ideas does mr. tolkien want to curry in the minds of children? is he trying to start a football team? what can be learned from the modern legacy of j.r.r. tolkien in the products of the 'games workshop' company which borrows so obviously from his works? www.games-workshop.com/gws/

    Priming Wargaming miniatures?

Hi guys, I'm just starting at the Wargaming hobby, but i´ve been reading and watching videos about painting and such for over 2 month, and i have some doubts about priming. As i understand it, if you don't prime your miniatures the paint chips off, etc. Bottom line you don't get a good paint job in the end. I´m aiming to get a decent tabletop quality for my minis since i want to take all the time i need to paint the armies. My problem with priming is that i cant find priming spray paints where i live, just regular latex spray paint so i would like your help on these questions: 1) Can i prime with this latex spray paints? or they might eat trough plastic minis, damage the details on them, etc. Is there another bad side effect of using these paints to prime? 2) Can i prime a mini using just a high quality paint such as the Black/white color in the Game Workshop Hobby starter set (i think they are of the foundation line) or with a Vallejo Model color line and a brush? if it is possible to do this, is there a bad side effect to using this priming method? should i water down the paint when priming or apply it right out of the bottle? Thanks in advance for your answers. Happy Wargaming

Voting Question: Can you use any brand of acrylic paint for Warhammer pieces?

When painting Warhammer pieces, Games Workshop offers a brand called "Citadel" paints, which happens to be rather expensive. Instead of Citadel paints, could I just use a Wal-Mart brand of acrylic paints ("Daler Rowney" brand paints) and still get a decent looking figurine? Also, can you use black/white spray paint to prime the pieces before painting? [Please only answer this question if you have experience painting Warhammer figurines]
